WoolNeedleThread bags are made one at a time to be as distinctive as you are, to be useful and gorgeous, and to bring the joy of beautiful color, pattern, and texture to every moment of your day.

WoolNeedleThread began with knitting bags. I’m a knitter and crocheter too, and I want project bags and knitting totes that honor the care, time, and skill I put into my knitting. My love of knitting and crochet is where the “wool” in WoolNeedleThread comes from. Knitting bags and project totes are still, and will always be, a big part of my business.

I added a wider range of handbags as non-knitters began asking for purses and totes as well-made and distinctive as my project bags. In my shop you’ll find a variety of styles including crossbody bags, wristlets, clutches, and backpacks. Many feature premium materials like petroleum-free waxed canvas and Portuguese cork fabric. Occasionally you’ll even find wristlets or project bags with a bit of hand embroidery or beading for a truly unique work of fine craftmanship. Decades of experience and an eye for striking combinations of color and texture go into the construction of my bags.

Unlike mass-produced items, I don’t offer hundreds or even dozens of the same bag. Choose your favorite and you’re not likely to ever see another just like it. The style may be fun and vibrant, earthy and neutral, or pastel and pretty, but I always make sure each item is finished to the highest standard. I choose every fabric and make every stitch of each WoolNeedleThread crossbody, wristlet, and tote myself – I am the “needle and thread” behind WoolNeedleThread.

• Where can I purchase?

Right here on my website! Each bag is one of a kind, so if you’re looking for one in particular and can’t find it, it may be sold. If you have any doubts please reach out through my contact form.

• Why should I subscribe to your newsletter?

Subscribers have the first chance to purchase new products, the first access to new sale items, and periodic exclusive subscriber-only bags.

• Why can’t I find all the bags I see on your Instagram?

Because my bags are one of a kind or produced in micro batches, they can sell out quickly. The best way to keep up with new listings is to subscribe to my email list and to follow me on social media (links below).

• Do you take custom orders?

Sometimes. As a 1-woman business and a mother, I can’t always carve out time for a special order. I’ve also found some supplies hard to source over the past couple of years, and I’ve had to turn down requests because I simply can’t get the materials. And while I’m proud of the quality of my workmanship, I also know my limits. If I don’t think I can provide you with a product of the highest quality, I can’t take your request. But many times I can!
